My Platform

Hello friends and neighbours, my commitment to you...

"To advance the vision that will see us living in a vibrant, complete city, one in which residents can live safely, find work without communitng, play on our courts and fields and entertain family and friends in our parks and cultural centres."

How we’re going to do this:

1. Live and Work:

How do we collaborate to address the affordable housing needs and the increasing needs for services and amenities?
  • Planning and execution, utilizing our Housing Affordability Strategy, as well the numerous strategies developed in the past several years such as the Burquitlam Lougheed Neighbourhood Plan
  • Partnerships and utilizing money paid to the City by developers for the much needed expansion and upkeep of parks, arts facilities and school fields
  • Ensure adequate employment space so our residents can live and work here, avoiding commutes and enabling more time with family
  • Execute a strategy for Riverview that will see the return of much needed mental health and an increase in addiction services

2. Safe Community:

How can we ensure that our residents feel safe?
  • Continued focus on expanding police service and traffic enforcement
  • Create more open spaces
  • Support active transportation and walkable neighbourhoods
  • Expand the neighbourhood blitz

3. Get Around:

How can we improve roads and transit to reduce congestion while we grow?
  • Continued expansion of road networks to include multi use paths for walkability, accessibility  and bikes
  • Widening of Lougheed Highway and construction of a divider to make the Riverview area safer

4. Play and Entertain:

How can we build a vibrant, inclusive community?
  • Continue expansion and refurbishing of parks, arts & culture and rec facilities
  • Partner to deliver services and facilities to residents when they need them
I firmly believe that the Council should provide oversight and that our well paid civic managers be provided with the support, direction and direct feedback to best deliver services to Coquitlam. Councillors should focus on the long term needs of the residents, provide oversight and counsel to the Senior City staff and then stay out of the way, allowing them to do their jobs.
